Conceptual Inspiration:
This particular mix is a dedication to the global trance movement born out of Goa, India, that has been a huge inspiration to me over the past 12 years. It is the product of multiple years spent seeking out tracks that characterize the distinct "outdoor goa" sound, as I came to know it. From the deep, organic, tribal sounds of the forest to the spacious and melodic high energy synths of star-filled skies, this project tries to capture the atmosphere of the spiritual-based, global trance movement that continues to spread around the world. The title represents the level of consciousness that this movement has carried with it along with the desire for spiritual rediscovery and a neo-tribal emphasis through the ritual of trance-dance. At the peak of this mix is a track by Space Tribe and Psywalker entitled "Gathering of the Tribes" which contains samples of a young woman expressing the magic felt through this movement and the importance of our need to embrace it's potential. Continuing in the spirit of my mixes "Meridian" and "Centauric Realm," I feel that this mix most closely captures the "outdoor" sound I know and love that was born on the sunset beaches of Goa.
