Conceptual Inspiration:
This is a project aimed at capturing the transcendental nature of goa-trance which integrates the ancient tribal drumming rhythms characteristic of primitive "trance" with the progressively intricate melodies and atmospheres of modern electronic "trance" music. The progression of this mix from beginning to end is meant to act as a sort of timeline representing the evolution of trance music as a result of its globalization (similar to that of the ambient mix “Lineage” equivalent). The "meridian" is present as the thread that weaves trance music's various aspects together as the sacred trance ritual is now being rediscovered through technology in part of what has been called "neo-tribalism." Connecting past and present, tribal and electronic, and through a spiritually focused movement involving various cultures around the world, this is an exploration in modern "transcendentalism" within the musical realm of the trance-dance ritual.
